Vision Trip 2010
Ten Russian college students are standing outside their university smoking and passing the time despite the freezing temperature and snow flurries. Off to the side two students from Texas are praying and wondering whether or not to approach the large group. This is their first day engaging with the students of Moscow and they’ve never done anything like this before. After a moment of apprehension matched with excitement they dive in and before they know it the attentive group of students is surrounding them. “It was awesome. We were just bold and ended up having a great conversation with them” said the first student. “Yeah, it was really cool. They were easy to talk to and eager to listen.” Said the other.
This was the March 2010 Vision Trip’s experience in a nutshell. It began with excitement and a tinge of apprehension, then moved forward with prayer and steps of faith and ended with great conversations as the lost students of Moscow were approached with the hope and joy of the good news of Jesus Christ.
Paulann Baptist Church from San Angelo, TX brought 15 staff and students to Moscow for 7 days to bless and reach out to the students of Russia. Their time was filled with morning worship and Biblical teaching, opportunities to share their faith with students on campus, intentional prayer, focusing on the major universities of Moscow, and a day to serve the local church with their strength and joy. When the trip ended many commented on how the Lord broke their hearts for the students they talked to and were moved to pray more fervently for them.

What about you? Is the Lord calling you to invest a week of your life investing in and praying for the future leaders of Moscow and Russia? We would love to have you join us as we seek the welfare of this great city.
“Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel…seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you…and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.”
~ Jeremiah 29:4-7

Summer Project is coming!
At the end of May, 30 college students from Texas and Oklahoma, along with 10 staff and volunteers, will converge on the city of Moscow to claim it for God’s kingdom. We are so excited about this group coming to serve alongside us and live life in Moscow for an entire month!

They’ll spend a month exploring the beautiful city of Moscow, experiencing life in a new culture, working together in ministry teams, and engaging with students all over this huge city about the truth of the Gospel of Christ. In the midst of all of this, they’ll be challenged and encouraged to walk closely with the Father and in dependence on the Holy Spirit.
These projects are amazing times not only for the participants but also for our local ministry. The eternal investment that they make into the lives of students in Moscow will have lasting effects as we continue to seek the Lord for the city, and depend on Him for the transformation of a nation.
Please pray for God to begin preparing the hearts of Moscow students to hear and receive the truth of Christ this summer.
Pray also that God would prepare the project participants for the journey that lies ahead. Pray for us, that we might welcome and encourage them to experience the joy of the Lord and all that Moscow has to offer them this summer! Praise the Lord for how He is leading and guiding this project! |
